Please read these terms carefully before using BUET Career Center

By accessing and using BUET Career Center ("the Platform"), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement. If you do not agree to abide by the above, please do not use this service.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the BUET Career Center website and services operated by Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology ("BUET," "we," "us," or "our").
BUET Career Center is a comprehensive career development platform designed to connect BUET students, alumni, and employers. Our mission is to facilitate career growth, professional networking, and job opportunities within the BUET community.

Account Creation
To access certain features of the Platform, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update such information to keep it accurate, current, and complete.
Account Security
You are responsible for safeguarding the password and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree not to disclose your password to any third party and to take sole responsibility for any activities or actions under your account.
Account Types
- Student Accounts: For current BUET students with valid student ID
- Alumni Accounts: For BUET graduates with verified graduation records
- Employer Accounts: For companies and organizations seeking to hire BUET talent
- Collaborator Accounts: For external partners and mentors
Accurate Information
Provide truthful and accurate information in your profile and applications
Account Security
Maintain the security of your account credentials and report unauthorized access
Respectful Conduct
Treat other users with respect and avoid harassment or discriminatory behavior
Content Guidelines
Ensure all content you post is appropriate, legal, and non-offensive
Professional Behavior
Maintain professional conduct in all interactions and communications
Compliance
Follow all applicable laws and regulations while using the platform
You agree not to use the Platform to:
Consequences: Violation of these terms may result in account suspension, termination, or legal action as appropriate.
User-Generated Content
You retain ownership of content you submit to the Platform. By submitting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute your content in connection with the Platform.
Platform Content
The Platform and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by BUET and are protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.
Respect for Intellectual Property
You agree not to reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, publicly display, publicly perform, republish, download, store, or transmit any of the material on our Platform, except as expressly permitted by these Terms.
Your privacy is important to us. Our collection and use of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
Data Protection Commitment

Service Availability

While we facilitate connections between users and employers, we do not guarantee job placement or employment outcomes. Users are responsible for their own career decisions and job applications.
Third-Party Content
The Platform may contain links to third-party websites or content. We are not responsible for the accuracy, legality, or content of such third-party materials.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BUET shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of the Platform.
Termination by User
You may terminate your account at any time by contacting our support team or using the account deletion feature in your settings.
Termination by BUET
We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.
Effect of Termination
Upon termination, your right to use the Platform will cease immediately. We may delete your account and all associated data, though some information may be retained as required by law.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of any material changes by posting the new Terms on the Platform and updating the "Last Updated" date.
Continued Use
Your continued use of the Platform after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. If you do not agree to the new Terms, you should discontinue use of the Platform.
Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Bangladesh, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall be resolved through negotiation, mediation, or arbitration in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Jurisdiction
You agree to submit to the personal jurisdiction of the courts located in Dhaka, Bangladesh for any legal proceedings arising from these Terms.
Service Emails
By creating an account, you agree that we may send you emails related to your account and use of the Platform, such as email verification, password resets, application status updates, and important service notices.
Job-Match Notifications
We may send you periodic emails highlighting newly posted jobs that match your profile. Students receive these by default, and alumni receive them when they enable "Open for Jobs" in their profile. These emails are generated automatically by our recommendation system based on your profile information.
Opting Out
You can opt out of job-match emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in those emails or your account settings. Essential service and transactional emails may still be sent while your account is active.
